DOSLECHY promluvy z říše zvířat

[english below] Některé domorodé kultury se s divokými zvířaty dodnes běžně domlouvají.

Pořad u příležitosti Světového dne poslouchání připravil Miloš Vojtěchovský a Ladislav Železný.

WORLD LISTENING DAY

In indigenous cultures in ancient myths and fairy tales it is still custom to communicate with wild animals and humans. To understand the other beings, it is necessary to learn to listen, just as children are learning to speak. But can we really understand the animal languages? Or we are just translating to us what we think they are telling?

Even the ability to understand between people who share same language is quite tricky, let alone to understand foreigners or animals. In case we do not understand the language in which the person speaks to us, we are tracing in melody of the spoken language some words which are familiar to us. Fortunately, we are benefiting from music, songs, or sound poetry, general communication patterns which always offered us an universal language.

In the radio program Doslechy, a chapter of the serie started with Přeslechy in 2020, you can hear fragments of recordings of orcas, hippos, bats, insects, frogs, birds and other animal musicians, mostly from the albums published by the GRUENREKORDER label, along with field recordings from the SONICITY.cz portal. Petr Tureček from the Center for Theoretical Studies - a shared institute of The Charles University and The Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic discuss the topics of different strategies of listening and of the issues of the interspecies communication. Eduard and Florián Železní are commnting the recordings of animal voices while listening. The program was composed by Miloš Vojtěchovský and Ladislav Železný.
